A musician straight from the 1980s
Officially called Hideto Takarai, however he largely goes by his stage name Hyde, the Japanese musician and singer song-writer is also a record producer and actor. Born in Wakayama in January 1969, he started his career in the music and entertainment industry by joining the band Jerusalem’s Rod in 1988 as a guitarist. He left the band three years later to join another rock group, L’Arc-en-Ciel, as its lead singer and song writer. However, those who are just discovering this artist now should not think of him as unable to perform solo. In 2000, the band temporarily dissolved leaving each member free to pursue solo projects, and that is exactly what Hyde did. He went on to release a number of singles as well as two albums between 2000 and 2003, with the hits "Roetgen" and "666" in addition to popular singles such as "Angel’s Tale" and "Shallow Sleep".
