Spain's premiere rock festival
The Spanish capital has hosted the Dcode Festival Madrid since its inauguration in 2011. The first edition was a resounding success with over 25,000 fans treated to stellar performances from bands like My Chemical Romance, Kasabian, The Hives and The Ting Tings. Scandinavian giants Sigur Rós joined The Killers, The Kooks and Django Django for the second Dcode Festival Madrid in 2012. Two days of concerts and stunning stage sets attracted an audience of 20,000. This thrilling summer event takes place in the grounds of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid on the campus of the Faculty of Information Sciences and within easy reach of the Madrid metro and local bus routes.
Streamlined for success
Dcode Madrid combines an excellent location in the heart of the city with a programme made up of some of the most exciting names in rock, electronica and pop. Venues are easy to reach, green and enticing and festival-goers can expect outstanding performances and superior production and lighting every time. In order to promote quality over quantity, the event was reduced to one day in 2013; Franz Ferdinand, Foals and John Grant were among the acts to grace the stage at the new, streamlined Dcode Festival Madrid 2013. The lineup also included a number of Spanish and international acts such as IZAL, Love of Lesbian and Amaral. Beck was the undoubted star of the 2014 edition and other outstanding bands like Chvrches, Anna Calvi and Jake Bugg ensured that it was truly a day to remember.
Head to sunny Spain and a day of great music
Fans were treated to top names like Foals, Suede and Crystal Castles in 2015 when planned headliner, Sam Smith was forced to cancel due to illness. The sell-out event was attended by 20,000 people from Spain and further afield. Dcode Festival Madrid thrilled fans with a host of international and Spanish acts yet again in 2016 with Eagles of Death Metal, Mark Ronson, Kodaline, Jimmy Eat World and many others on the bill. The event is a great day out that continues to attract a mass of music fans to the Spanish capital.
