Blink 182 - pop-punk superstars
Blink 182 were, and are, one of the most successful punk-pop bands to come out on the scene after the success of the likes of Green Day and The Offspring. With the American trio still creating new music, it should come as no surprise that you can now buy Blink 182 tickets right here at StubHub! When the band returned from their indefinite hiatus back in 2008, there's little doubt a lot has changed since their early 90's pop-punk beginnings. The band's combination of pop melodies with fast punk rock rhythms gave the band a more accessible, radio-friendly sound than other bands that appeared before them. This all helped the Blink 182's phenomenal success and, as of 2018, the band has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. In fact, it can be said that no punk rock band from the 1990s has been more influential and Blink 182's music can still be heard in songs by other bands like Fall Out Boy. So if you love this punk band as much as we do, get your Blink 182 tour tickets today here at StubHub.
Blink 182 background
Blink 182 was founded by Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Scott Raynor in 1992. Originally known just as Blink, the band had to change their name to Blink 182 because of an Irish band with a similar name. Blink 182 released the debut album Buddha and then Cheshire Cat. However, it was the release of their 1997 album Dude Ranch that propelled the band to international fame with infectious songs like "Dammit (Growing Up)" and "Josie". In 1998, in the middle of a Blink 182 tour, drummer Scott Raynor left the band and he was replaced by hugely popular, and heavily tattooed, Travis Barker.
The band went from strength-to-strength with the 1999 release of their album Enema of the State which contained hugely popular songs like "All The Small Things" and "What's My Age Again?". Take off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) followed Enema of the State and was Blink 182's first number one album in the USA. The album featured hugely popular Blink 182 songs like "The Rock Show", "Stay Together for the Kids" and "First Date". In 2003, the band released a more mature, introspective album - Blink 182 - and shortly afterwards they were going on an indefinite hiatus.
